Camden Riggs - Props Artisan
ABOUT & ARTISTIC STATEMENT
I approach each show with the understanding that the objects themselves tell a story. Every small, meticulous detail has an overall impact on the audience's impression of a show, and in my mind, it is imperative that I create pieces that not only stand up to the test of time on-stage, but also leave lasting impressions within the minds of those who choose to watch.
The accuracy of these objects and proper execution of my dramaturgical research can transform ordinary props into something that can alter someone's preconceived notions of a script or performance. I value the ironic theatricality of it all—the object is really in the eye of the beholder, and as an artist I am nothing without a good spectator.
